Senior Accountant About:
GTA Accounting Professional Corporation is a mid-sized CPA Accounting Firm whose clients are predominantly private enterprises from various industries. The firm’s primary focus is building lasting client relationships through which we advise on a range of diverse business issues, in addition to providing core accounting and assurance and tax compliance services.
The Senior Accountant role reports directly to a Partner and requires a minimum of 5 years of public accounting experience, with preferably the CPA designation or at least pursuing it. This role requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills, a team-oriented approach and the ability to work independently, strong client communication skills, as well as the ability to successfully manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
Major Duties & Responsibilities

Preparation of corporate tax returns, US and Canadian

Preparation of personal tax returns, US and Canadian
-
Estate Returns & SRED claim returns
-
On-Site meetings with Corporate Clients

Knowledge of tax planning for shareholder remuneration

Knowledge of tax planning for associated groups including inter-company transactions
Notice to reader engagements

Preparation of working paper files with a high level of complexity
-
Process files with a significant number of complex journal entries
-
Preparation of complete financial statements with minimal changes required

Knowledge of accounting for investment transactions

Correspond directly with client staff to obtain required information

Follow up on any inquiries from Supervisor, Manager or Partner

Provide guidance to junior and intermediate staff

Liaise with client staff during an engagement

Qualification

Bachelor’s Degree

CPA designation preferred

5+ years of public accounting experience
Salary

$70,000 to $90,000 gross annual salary
